The historic communities of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Shrewsbury are boutique towns with great charm and character.  Originally inhabited in the 1660's, each town incorporated in the early 1900's. Situated on a picturesque peninsula minutes from beautiful beaches, our towns have thrived and diversified.  Driving through our community, you will see everything from dreamy waterfront properties to modest shore style homes to townhouses.  Renowned chefs and acclaimed restaurants have also come to call this place home. Whatever culinary experience you are longing for, options abound - including a good mix of  BYOB and full service bars/restaurants. Commuters find our region delightful when it comes to making their way to and from NYC.  Little Silver has direct train service into Manhattan and neighboring communities offer fast commuter ferries that dock at 34th Street, Wall Street and The World Financial Center.

As for our schools, the evidence shows "that when you compare New Jersey to other states, we're near the top in everything," said Steve Baker, spokesman for the New Jersey Education Association. "A lot of that is because we've committed the resources to public education."  True enough, in the most recent (2007) figures from the federal National Center for Education Statistics, New Jersey eighth-graders were first in the nation in writing, fourth in reading and sixth in math. Fourth-graders were second in both reading and math.
